Who we are

Based in Pool, Cornwall, Alissium is a studio running classes in pole, hoop, sling, dance, stretch & more! Classes for both adults & kids, and from complete beginners through to more experienced.

We opened our doors in January 2023 and have since grown to offer classes nearly every day of the week. Our schedule includes evening classes for adults, covering pole, aerial hoop, aerial sling, dance, and more. We also regularly host workshops in flying pole, flexibility, pole silks, hoop choreography, pole straps, and other specialties, often featuring guest instructors.

After school, we run kids' classes where they get to try out different equipment each week, keeping things fun and varied.

The studio is run by Laura, together with a wonderful team of instructors.

We're located in Pool, Redruth, just opposite Tesco Extra. There's plenty of parking available along the road before you enter the gates to our small industrial park - just a very short walk away. We can’t wait to welcome you!

Laura

Alissium owner & instructor
Laura began her aerial journey with a pole class back in 2008 - and she’s never looked back! She now teaches a wide range of disciplines; including pole, hoop, sling, stretch & dance. Opening her own pole and aerial studio was a long-time dream on her bucket list, and now she's living that dream every day!
Deborah

Admin & marketing
Deborah began handling admin and marketing for Alissium in December 2023 and has been a fantastic asset to the team ever since, we’re very lucky to have her! She's always very happy to help with any questions you might have. Send us a message anytime - Deborah will be ready to welcome you to Alissium!
Melanie

Instructor
Melanie began teaching at Alissium in May 2024 and is thrilled to be part of the team! She primarily teaches hoop, sling and kids classes. She’s very passionate about creating a warm, welcoming environment for new & current students in her classes - next time you’re in come and say hello to Melanie!
Ashley

Instructor
We’ve been very fortunate to have Ashley join the instructor team in September 2024, and she’s gone from strength to strength ever since! Ashley teaches hoop and pole, bringing a warm and calm presence to every class. Come experience her welcoming sessions for yourself!
Hayley

Instructor
With many years of teaching experience under her belt, Hayley joined the Alissium team in January 2025 - and we’re incredibly lucky to have her! She brings a wealth of knowledge in pole, and her dance background makes her choreography classes truly exceptional.
Georgia

Instructor
Georgia joined us in June 2025, bringing valuable teaching experience to her pole classes. Her incredible flexibility and impressive strength are sure to leave you in awe as she effortlessly spins around the pole! Come and try something new by joining her classes today!

Tam joined Alissium in July 2025, bringing with her several years of teaching experience and a deep love for all things pole. Specialising in both pole technique and pole choreography, she blends strength, flow, and creativity in every class. Tam’s passion for helping students grow make her a fantastic addition to the Alissium team.
